FYE - Library Skills for Academic Success In-Person

Welcome, First Year Experience students!

New to college research? Not sure where to start or how to find reliable sources? Join the Galveston College Library for a quick and practical introduction to the research skills you’ll use in every class.

In this session, we’ll show you how to:

  •  Turn your assignment into a searchable topic
  •  Find smart places to search (hint: not just Google)
  •  Pick the right keywords
  •  Choose credible sources
  •  Get help when you need it

You’ll also learn how to use the library’s databases, study spaces, and support services like live chat, email, and one-on-one help.
