National Poetry Month In-Person
Join the library in celebrating National Poetry Month
In April 1996 the Academy of American Poets launched National Poetry Month. This month-long celebration focuses on the role poets have in our culture. Over the years, it has become the largest literary celebration in the world, with tens of millions of readers (Poet.org, 2024).
